Jurgen Klopp has confirmed it is up to Luis Diaz if he wants to be available for Liverpool's clash at Luton.
The Colombian has been absent from the Reds' squad since last weekend when reports emerged of his parents being kidnapped in Colombia. His mother has since been rescued.
A representative of the group responsible has reportedly said they will free Diaz's father in the coming days, as per the BBC.
Now, Klopp has revealed Diaz can choose to return to the match day squad and join Liverpool for their trip to Bedfordshire.
«If he feels right, he will be will us,» he said in his pre-match press conference. «You can see he didn't sleep a lot. The news from Colombia gives us a little bit of hope.
»I cannot say what we will do. It's up to him, if he makes himself available or not."
He added: «We will not force it. We are waiting together for good news.»
Diaz's teammates paid tribute to him and his family during the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with Diogo Jota lifting Diaz's shirt to the crowd in his goal celebration.
Colombian police and military are working together to find Luis Manuel and return him to safety.
The Director General of the National Police of Colombia has also offered $200million pesos (£39,983) to anybody who can help.
The Colombian government confirmed on Thursday that illegal armed group called ELN is responsible for the kidnapping.
