Jones and summer signing Mac Allister will watch on from the sidelines through injury and suspension respectively. Therefore, Jurgen Klopp will be anxiously awaiting to learn the fitness of fellow midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who missed the Europa League defeat at Toulouse with a knee issue.
The Reds boss, who will also definitely be without long-term injury victims Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, has already hinted at a possible midfield change. Klopp revealed in midweek that Trent Alexander-Arnold could be moved to the centre of the park while Wataru Endo continues to find his feet following his move from VfB Stuttgart.
