Juventus have been told to do whatever it takes to keep Dusan Vlahovic before considering Romelu Lukaku as an alternative. The Chelsea striker faces an increasingly uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, with Mauricio Pochettino eager to conduct a summer clear-out.
Lukaku, who sees his contract at at Stamford Bridge expire in 2026, featured 25 times for the Nerazzurri in the Serie A last term, scoring ten goals. Despite his relatively unimpressive performances for Simone Inzaghi's side, the Belgium international was still heavily linked with a return to the San Siro at the end of the season.
The report states that Ausilio informed Lukaku of Inter's decision in a 30-second phone call on Friday. With the Belgian lined up with a move to Turin, Luca Toni has insisted that he would rather see the Old Lady keep Vlahovic than sign the out of favour Chelsea ace.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Italy international said: "First of all, it’s necessary to see whether or not Vlahovic wants to stay at Juventus. Being their Number Nine is a privilege, and no one should be there reluctantly.
"Dusan is a top player, there’s no debating that despite some of his difficulties," added the 46-year-old. "Lukaku is a great player, he would be a great signing. But given Vlahovic’s age, I’d keep him since he can represent both the present and the future."
