Kai Havertz desperate to kickstart Arsenal career and Everton could be perfect opponents

Kai Havertz is already dividing opinion at Arsenal, and he's only played four Premier League games since his move from Chelsea.

The Gunners splashed out £65million on the German international because Mikel Arteta felt he would be a perfect addition.

But the 24-year-old has looked a little bit lost playing a hybrid midfield role, while he has missed plenty of good chances to get his first goal.

However, Everton could prove to be the ideal opponent for Havertz to get his Arsenal career properly underway.

Playing mainly as a striker for a struggling Chelsea side last season, the forward only scored seven goals in the Premier League.

But one of these came in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge against Everton, in his most recent outing against the Toffees.

It came via the penalty spot, but a goal is a goal.

And, given his struggles, a familiar opponent could be just what he needs.

It's been a tough start to life in north London for the former Bayer Leverkusen man, with him appearing to drift through games without having too much impact.

But his boss, Arteta, has staunchly defended Havertz at every turn, so expect him to get a lot more time to adapt and show his qualities.

Speaking to the media recently about Havertz, the Spaniard did everything he could to boost the German's confidence.

He said: «I’ll tell you what I feel about him, that I love him and I see his qualities every day in training.

“His work rate is excellent, a lot of the things he does at the front of the team is so good.

“The visual one — the one with the stats is what is missing at the moment, to put the ball in the net and to arrive in those zones and have a different impact on the game, but for the rest, it’s that.
