Kerry stretched their unbeaten run in the First Division to seven games as the Munster Derby in the Markets Field ended in a scoreless draw.
A valuable point for Treaty to end their recent rut of form. Corey Chambers was outstanding in net for the Shannonsiders. Making a string of quality saves especially in the second half as Kerry certainly were scratching their heads as to how they were not ahead.
Treaty almost took the lead in the opening minute. Fionn Doherty raced down the left wing and floated a ball into the area which Mark Byrne struck for goal but the effort cannoned off the left stanchion. Ryan Kelliher looked odds on to net the opener in the sixth minute at the other end but Ben O’Riordan deflected the shot out for a corner.
The Limerick side kept on the offensive front and had a lot more of the chances in the opening half. Lee Devitt had a shot deflected out for a corner, while Stephen Christopher almost connected with another cross on the left flank from Doherty but Christopher failed to keep the ball down.
Kerry were defending well and down the other end past the half hour mark they almost took the lead. Ronan Teahan first with a shot that squeezed to the outside of the left hand post, while Kelliher soon after glanced at a header but failed to make contact.
Kelliher had shot to the near post from close range which Corey Chambers was down quick to get a hand to parry the strike out for a corner to start the second half on the front for the visitors.
With 50 minutes on the clock, Yoyo Mahdy floated a ball across the face of goal which Devitt connected with for goal but Tuta produced a stunning save to keep the tie all square.
