A handful of Manchester United players have wished Charlie Savage all the very best for the future after he completed his move to Reading.
The 20-year-old, who captained United in the second half of last week's 2-0 win over Leeds United in Oslo, has joined the League One side for an undisclosed fee. He has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
It is understood that United made the decision to sell Savage for the best interests of his career. He had made just one first-team appearance for the club and a pathway to the first team was becoming increasingly difficult to see.
After spending the second half of last season on loan in League One at Forest Green Rovers, he will now be hoping that he can stamp his authority on the division on a full-time basis. He had also been linked with a move to fellow League One side Wigan Athletic.

Issuing an emotional statement on his Instagram page on Saturday evening, Savage wrote: "Today marks the end of my time at Manchester United. For the past 15 years I have had the privilege to call Manchester United my home.
"I joined the club as a boy, aged five, and am leaving, aged 20, forever grateful for every single person who has helped me to this date. From the kit and kitchen staff, coaches and every single person who has had a hand in my journey, thank you. There are too many people to name personally.
