Kolo Toure has argued that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka would have been able to get into the Invincibles side. Saka has established himself as one of Europe's best right-wingers in recent times, already netting eight goals and providing a further 11 assists during the first few months of the 2023/24 campaign.
Aged just 22, the Hale End academy graduate also has plenty of room to develop his game. But Toure has now claimed that the England international is already the best winger in the Premier League when it comes to one versus one situations.
Speaking about the youngster to The Athletic, he said: «One-on-one, he is the best winger in the Premier League. He can take on any player, even two players, no problem.
»There aren’t many players in the league who play like him. A lot of players look for passing or combination, but when you have a dribbler like Saka, you want him to go one-on-one. He can pass players and create an overload through his dribbling.
“Could he have played for The Invincibles? Absolutely.”

It is high praise indeed from Toure considering the Invincibles boasted the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp in the side. Robert Pires played on the left wing and Freddie Ljungberg on the right, the former of which has previously been likened to Saka by ex-Manchester City defender Micah Richards. Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day Top 10 earlier this year, Gary Lineker mentioned Pires, to which Richards replied by saying: “Now we’re cooking! He reminds me of Saka.”
