Kyle Walker and Phil Foden send heartfelt messages to Cole Palmer after Man City exit
Kyle Walker has led the goodbyes to Cole Palmer with a heartfelt message after the forward completed a transfer to Chelsea.
Manchester City have sold one of their most promising starlets to their Premier League rivals in a £42m deal. Palmer had made a promising start to the season with goals against Arsenal and Sevilla but wanted to move to Stamford Bridge in search of more game time.
Riyah Mahrez's departure seemed to open a path into Pep Guardiola's side for the 21-year-old but Premier League limits remained limited and the signing of Jeremy Doku has pushed him back down the pecking order. The sale takes City's earnings this summer to £150m with over £100m coming from academy products alone following further departures of James Trafford, Shea Charles and Carlos Borges.
Some City stars have moved to say goodbye to Palmer on social media and Walker sent a particularly touching message.

"Although I’m sad to see you leave City, I wish you nothing but happiness and success in the next chapter of your life," Walker wrote on Instagram.
"You have sat next to me in the Etihad changing rooms from the start of your arrival into the first team and I have seen you grow & develop from a boy to a man.
"Don’t stop learning and striving to be the best you can be and will be my little brother."
Phil Foden wrote: "Good luck in your new challenge bro, we will miss ya!" and Rico Lewis said: "All the best brother."
