La Liga president Javier Tebas labels Everton punishment 'unfair' and explains what they do differently

La Liga president Javier Tebas has branded the treatment of Everton ‘unfair’, saying it is something that could not have happened in Spain.

Everton’s initial 10-point penalty for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules was reduced to six points earlier this week following an appeal, although the club continues to have the prospect of another deduction hanging over its head due to being charged for the 2022/23 period in January.

PSR allows clubs to lose a maximum of £105m over three years, although some costs are allowed to be deducted from the profit and loss, such as investment in infrastructure, the women’s team, community, and youth academy.
