Celebrity chef Dave Myers, best known as one half of the Hairy Bikers, has died at the age of 66.
His last television appearance aired just days before the news of his death, on Tuesday, February 27 when Dave and long-time co-star Si King sampled what is on offer in Merseyside for The Hairy Bikers Go West. The seven-part series sees the Bikers meet local food producers, while they take a nostalgic trip down memory lane to places close to their hearts.
Aired on BBC Two, each week Dave and Si have been basing themselves in stunning locations, with episode one seeing them visit Bute, episode two Dumfries , episode three Lancashire and episode four Merseyside. The remaining episodes will see them exploring North Wales, Bristol and Devon.

Last year the Bikersvisited Merseyside for filmingbecause it holds a lot of childhood memories for both Dave and Si. During their time they went to see a forward-thinking farm run by childhood sweethearts and first-time farmers Liam and Rebecca at Snoutwood Trotters.
After a brief career in engineering and accountancy, Liam and Rebecca changed course and decided a life on the land was for them and for the last 13 years they’ve kept a rare breed of pig, the Gloucestershire Old Spot.
Dave and Si boys learned they’re part of a new generation of young farmers driven by sustainability. Rebecca told the ECHO: "We had such a great day. We were nervous about being on camera but Si and Dave were so down to earth, it was just like chatting with friends. They were really interested in our story and what we do together on a daily basis.
