The Everton Fan Advisory Board have written to three stakeholders who have a major impact on the next steps for the club – Farhad Moshiri, the Premier League and 777 Partners.
In a statement issued at 9am, confirming their intentions, the FAB said: “It has been said far too often recently that our football club is facing the most critical point in its history. The last number of years have brought significant worry, concern and uncertainty on and off the pitch for all those associated with our great club.”
The declaration came five days that the FAB called on the Premier League to suspend all current hearings into breaches of Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR), given what it sees as the lack of any transparent, consistent and established sanctions guidelines, and added: “As we face the prospect of our third relegation battle in as many seasons, with speculation rife about our financial sustainability and huge uncertainty about the ownership and future of our club, we have today written to three stakeholders who have a major impact on the next significant steps for our club – Farhad Moshiri, the Premier League (PL) and 777.
“The correspondence seeks answers to the questions we have received from Evertonians about the maelstrom of uncertainty that engulfs our club at this moment. Questions about when and if a decision will be made about the proposed takeover, the viability of 777 as a potential owner and the contingencies in place should the current takeover proposals prove unsuccessful.
