Everton forward Lewis Dobbin believes his time away from the club last season has helped him mature as he aims to catch the eye of Sean Dyche.
After signing a new three-and-a-half-year contract in January 2022, Dobbin spent last season on loan at Derby County. It was the forward’s first taste of senior first-team football.
Dobbin, who made his first-team debut in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Norwich City in September 2021, went on to score five times in 54 appearances for the League One club as they pushed for a place in the play-offs.
Now back at Everton, Dobbin has impressed in the recent friendlies against Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers, and he believes he is feeling the benefits of the first-team football he experienced last season.

Speaking to evertontv, he said: "On and off the pitch, I've matured a lot, and I think that's showing in my game.
"I've learned how to use my body better, when to release the ball, and things like that.
"I can definitely feel the difference. I've got a full season of senior football under my belt now, and you feel better for that coming back here now.
"Hopefully I can keep developing and going in the right direction under the manager. I'll keep working hard, keep trying to catch the eye, and hopefully get the rewards for that."
Reflecting on pre-season so far, Dobbin said: "I'm enjoying it. [Against Bolton] I wanted to go enjoy the experience and show what I can do. Hopefully, I did that.
"I think pre-season has been tough, but I'm really feeling the benefits on the pitch. I feel sharp, and I'm getting sharper every week, so it's good.
