Ligue 1 Results, Round 5
After two convincing wins before the international break, Paris Saint-Germain have fallen at the Parc des Princes against OGC Nice. Despite conceding a late 2-2 away draw at Lorient, AS Monaco remain top of Ligue 1.
PSG 2 – 3 Nice
Les Parisiens have suffered their first defeat of the season against a Terem Moffi-inspired OGC Nice. The brilliant Nigerian forward found the back of the net twice and provided the assist for Gaëtan Laborde’s goal. Kylian Mbappé’s classy brace was in vain. With eight points out of a possible 15, this is PSG’s worst start of a Ligue 1 season since the Qatari takeover.

Rennes 2 – 2 Lille
Lille let a two-goal lead slip through their fingers at the Roazhon Park. Goals from defenders Lenny Yoro and Bafodé Diakité looked enough for Paulo Fonseca’s side to deliver a statement away win. Late strikes from Lorenz Assignon and Ibrahim Salah saved Rennes’ blushes. Les Bretons have drawn their last four Ligue 1 games. Rennes and Lille will be on continental duty this week. The former host Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League group stage on Thursday whilst Les Dogues host Ljubljana on Wednesday in the Europa Conference League.
Lens 0 – 1 Metz
Lens’ summer of woes is continuing at an alarming pace. Last season’s runners-up have lost as many Ligue 1 games (4) this season as they did the past campaign. Despite dominating proceedings, the Artois side were unable to find cracks in their opponents’ defense. The visitors did though, courtesy of Swedish winger Joel Asoro. Before traveling to Sevilla in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday, Lens are bottom of the league.
