Paul Smyth produced a fine display for Northern Ireland against San Marino
Michael O'Neill singled out goal scorers Paul Smyth and Conor McMenamin for praise after his side celebrated only their second Euro 2024 qualifying victory.
Goals from Smyth, Josh Magennis and McMenamin sunk San Marino 3-0 at Windsor Park.
It was a second success over the tiny country but they remain the only side Northern Ireland have taken points off in the group.
The home side could have scored more goals but there was relief around a sold out Windsor Park as O'Neill's men ended a dismal run of five straight qualifying defeats.
A fast start proved crucial as Smyth and Magennis ensured it was 2-0 by the 11th minute and McMenamin poked home his first international goal on 81 minutes.
"The game went as we thought and hoped it would with a really good first goal and then to follow it up quickly with the second," said O'Neill.
"The game became almost too comfortable then and we could have played a bit quicker at times.
"When Paul's goal was disallowed, it took the momentum out of the game, with a long time for the decision.
"We had chances in the second half and got bogged down in our play but the third goal was good and we finished with five under 21 players on the pitch. It's good that they get that exposure.
"Paul has had to be patient, I gave him his debut in 2018 and his appearances have been limited.
"He plays wing back for his club but in a 4-3-3 he can give you width, crosses and he has an eye for a goal, it was a brilliant finish for both his goal and the one that was disallowed.
