Back in as first-choice goalkeeper, was beaten by the powerfully struck free-kick. Will feel he could have got a vital touch on it.
Trai Hume – 7
Not afraid to produce a thundering hit, the Sunderland ace breathed sigh of relief after offside goal. Made some important interventions in an impressive display.
Eoin Toal – 6
Debut for the Bolton defender as Ballard was ruled out. Alongside Evans, he couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. Had a scare when Sesko thought he had scored but was largely composed and comfortable.
Jonny Evans – 7
Landed awkwardly on his right ankle but played on and covered for Toal is one stunning defensive move. One of several players booked, still a classy operator.
Jamal Lewis – 7
His ‘foul’ on Sesko led to the set-piece opener but he can reflect on a strong showing. Can carry the ball at speed and fired one effort wide.
Shea Charles – 5
Booked for contesting the early free kick that led to the opener and his lunge on Sporar that saw him sent off was reckless. Outside of the cautions, his set piece play was dangerous.
Paul Smyth – 6
Deserved start after his sparkling display on Saturday. Part of the same front three in a 4-3-3 formation. Was also cautioned by the card happy referee but was bright spark.
Brad Lyons – 6
Senior international bow for the Kilmarnock ace. The energetic midfielder attacked with purpose and looks a player brimming with confidence.
Jordan Thompson – 5
Too often on periphery of game, he needs to offer more. Commitment without making a difference. Booked for dissent and removed on 63 minutes.
Dale Taylor – 5
