Centre-back Jonny Evans has admitted that he will 'never forget' Manchester United's supporters singing his name following the conclusion of their 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor last month.
Amid United's injury crisis in defence, Evans was drafted into the starting line-up and handed his first Reds start in more than eight years. He started alongside Victor Lindelof at centre-back, helping Erik ten Hag's side record just their second Premier League clean sheet of the season.
As well as helping United record a rare shutout, the Northern Irishman, who returned to the club on a one-year deal on September 1, also provided the assist for Bruno Fernandes to volley home the only goal of the game. He also saw an effort of his own disallowed.

But even that could not put a downer on what was a memorable night for the former Leicester City defender, who has made four appearances so far this season. Though getting the assist for the match-winning goal was brilliant for him, it was the reception he earned from United's army of travelling supporters at the full-time whistle that meant the most to him.
Evans told MUTV: "I think you can have so many different good nights of your life. I think the reason that one will be memorable is because I was involved with a goal, I had a goal disallowed, and I probably wasn't expecting to play until the day before the game.
