Jurgen Klopp admits his team are incapable of a cagey approach but there will have to be some form of containment if Liverpool are to triumph at the Etihad today.
A first victory away at Manchester City since November 2015 could be huge for the belief within the Reds' ranks for the long term, but a draw is no bad result all things considered.
In goal, Alisson Becker obviously gets the nod behind a back four that sees Ibrahima Konate return alongside Virgil van Dijk. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas take up the right and left-back spots respectively.
The midfield situation, as always, is the big issue for Klopp and while Alexis Mac Allister will get the nod in the defensive role he will need help from Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones, who returns for me on the left side. All three might even find themselves having to do a passable impersonation of a number six during the game.
Up top, Darwin Nunez starts centrally, fresh from goal-laden international break where he scored three times for Uruguay. Luis Diaz, another among the goals in South America recently, is named on the left with Mohamed Salah, of course, stationed on the right.
