Liverpool have made two late additions to their Europa League squad ahead of facing Sparta Prague on Thursday night.
Jurgen Klopp named a 23-man travelling squad for the Reds’ round-of-16 first leg tie, after UEFA confirmed Liverpool’s squad for the knock-out stages last week.
The Reds named veteran goalkeeper Adrian in their updated squad, with Joel Matip, who has been ruled out until the end of the season with an ACL injury, the player to make way. The Spaniard had originally been left out of Liverpool’s quota for the first half of the season, with them already filling their maximum allocation of 17 overseas players.
But while the Reds’ squad for the knockout stages has long since been finalised, Klopp can still make additions to his selection of eligible Under-21s players on ‘List B’. Sides are able to register an unlimited number of players on ‘List B’ during the season, provided their updated list is submitted no later than 24:00 CET the day before a match.

Mateusz Musialowski, who is yet to make an appearance for Liverpool, was named in the squad that travelled to Prague on Wednesday despite not previously being named in their initial squad. But, as expected, UEFA have now confirmed that the Reds have added the 20-year-old to their quota of ‘List B’ players ahead of the game.
