It has been a quiet start to the January transfer window for Liverpool as regards incomings.
The Reds have rarely flexed their muscles at this time of the season in the market and that is a trend that could continue in 2024. Much of the club's activity so far has consisted of recalling players from loan spells as Jurgen Klopp seeks further depth in his squad, at a time when many players are out injured.
One individual to have recently left the club on loan is Fabio Carvalho, whose temporary stay at Hull City was today confirmed by the Championship club. The midfielder will be hopeful of a consistent run of matches for the second tier side after struggling for minutes at RB Leipzig.

One player who would certainly be worth considering is Archie Gray of Leeds United. The 17-year-old, enjoying a breakthrough season at his boyhood club, is capable of operating at right-back and in midfield. Such a signing would enable Trent Alexander-Arnold to enjoy more flexibility in his hybrid role, without the need to play Joe Gomez and others out of position on a regular basis.
Gray is highly-rated by Leeds and would come at a premium due to being English, though he may well be worth the long-term investment. That he has started 24 Championship matches during the Whites' push for promotion back to the Premier League is telling of the teenager's quality.
