The Reds have not been playing well recently, but are still grinding out the wins. On one hand it’s the stuff of champions, but on the other you could argue such good fortune won’t last forever.
It’s clear the Liverpool squad is not perfect, and still possesses a couple of holes that need filling. A lack of a world class holding midfielder could cost them, while Joel Matip’s season-ending injury has created fresh scrutiny over their depth at centre-back.

Yet while facing and overcoming so many setbacks already this season, they sit top with only the most controversial of officiating performances against Tottenham Hotspur denying them an unbeaten record.
