Fluminense midfielder Andre has revealed he turned down the chance to secure a transfer move during the summer window amid speculation surrounding Liverpool.
The Reds are admirers of the Brazilian star and were strongly linked with completing a deal for the 22-year-old as Jurgen Klopp rebuilt his first-team squad following the exits of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita.
The ECHO have previously reported Liverpool's interest in Andre, which comprised of discussions with Fluminense in early August over their defensive midfielder. The Reds quietly retreated and direct their energies towards Wataru Endo once it emerged the Brazilian side wouldn't entertain an exit until they were eliminated from the Copa Libertadores.

Discussing his future for the first time in an interview ahead of the Libertadores final, which takes place on November 4 and sees Fluminense go up against Argentinian giants Boca Juniors, Andre said: “In this past window I didn't talk about it, the first time I'm going to talk in more depth will be now. It really was an irrefutable proposal from the club that plays in a big league.
"I think every player one day dreams of playing for a big club in Europe, in a big league. But I decided to keep my word because when the January window closed, Diniz [Fluminense manager] arrived and told me that he wanted me here until the end of the year. We didn't know that a proposal of that amount would arrive and I told him that, regardless of what happened, I would be there until the end of the season.
