Daniel Sturridge was once part of one of the most dangerous strike partnerships in Premier League history alongside Luis Suarez.
However, the former Liverpool star has been through a fall from grace in recent years, with injuries plaguing the forward's career.
Sturridge is now seemingly pursuing a career in media and made more positive headlines for his appearance on Sky Sports’ coverage of Chelsea's 4-1 win over Tottenham on Monday.
And seeing the 34-year-old's face on the TV screen had fans wondering what his journey after the Premier League looked like and if he has hung up his boots yet.
Sturridge is yet to officially announce his retirement from football.
However, he is currently without a club and has not played a game since April 30 2022.
Since leaving Liverpool in 2019, where he made 116 Premier League appearances and scored 51 goals, he has only played 23 league games in total.
Those 23 games have been spread between three clubs, making six for West Brom, 11 for Turkish side Trabzonspor and six for his last team Perth Glory.
While Sturridge is yet to publicly announce his retirement as a player, his decision to join the Sky Sports football presenting team for the 2023/24 season gave a clear hint on where he sees his future.
“I am excited to be a part of it all with Sky Sports,” the striker said.
“I’m looking forward to using my experience on the pitch and bringing this insight to the fans watching at home.
“It is set to be an exciting season ahead and it’s great to be part of the Sky Sports team bringing you all the action.”
Sturridge last played for Perth Glory in Australia.
He joined the A-League side in November 2021 but only made six appearances in total and didn’t score a single goal or register an assist.
