Luis Enrique, the newly appointed manager succeeding Christophe Galtier, has stepped into the spotlight with his first media interaction since his unveiling. Addressing the ongoing dilemmas surrounding star players Neymar and Marco Verratti, Enrique’s discreet approach has generated speculation about potential departures. The following was transcribed by L’Équipe.
In the press conference which took place at PSG Campus, the club’s new training ground, Enrique was evasive with his answer responding to a question on Verratti and Neymar. However, he told the press to “keep an eye on my actions.”
“I won’t share my conversations with players as it’s private stuff, but be attentive to my decisions”, said the former Barcelona and Spain manager, adding “My decisions will express my opinion.”
Both Verratti and Neymar were reportedly told to find a way out of the club by manager Luis Enrique and sporting adviser Luis Campos earlier this week. This was after Neymar reportedly told PSG managemet that he wanted to leave the club this summer, according to L’Équipe.
