Former Barcelona striker Luis Suarez will reunite with Lionel Messi in the United States after officially signing a contract with MLS franchise Inter Miami.
The 36-year-old, who recently left Brazilian outfitGremio, has opted to renew his deadly partnership with his close friend Messi after they spent five years together at the Camp Nou.
Earlier this week, MARCA reported that negotiations were progressing and gave an insight in what could be included in his contract withDavid Beckham's club. It was reported by Fabrizio Romano that there was a verbal agreement between the Miami club and the forward.
And now, it is official that Suarez has put pen to paper on a contract for the entirety of the 2024 season, which will begin in March.
Inter Miami announced the deal with a post on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption reading: «Welcome Luis Suarez, to the dream of Miami.»
Alongside the announcement, the club uploaded a picture of four young players in their academy wearing the jerseys of Suarez, Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
The quartet will be brought back together for the first time since they played for the Catalan giants in LaLiga, which only underlines the tremendous rise of MLS' reputation in the eyes of world-class footballers.
The striker, who also starred forLiverpool before joiningBarcelona and later Atletico Madrid in an illustrious career, says he is excited about the prospect of a new career in North America.
