Luis Suarez to Inter Miami: When is the presentation and when will he make his debut?
The Uruguayan is linking up with Lionel Messi again
Inter Miami did not enjoy their best season in 2023 after failing to make the playoffs, but the arrival ofLuis Suarez to partner up with Lionel Messi again will strike some fear into their rivals about their potential future success.
The team, owned by David Beckham and Jorge Mas, left earlier than expected for their post-season vacation, with their last game coming back on November 11. But they will already be looking forward to how far they could go next season with the capture of Suarez.
The MLS franchise announced the signing of the 36-year-old striker on Friday on their official social media accounts and they are planning to present him to the media.
By linking up with the American team, Suarez will reunite with three former Barcelona team-mates with whom he won the historic treble in 2014-15: Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and World Cup winner Messi.
And it will not be long until the Uruguayan sets the DRV PNK Stadium alight with his trickery after joining from Gremio, where he scored 17 goals and created 11 assists this season.
MLS does not return until February, some three months after the signing of Suarez. However, fans won't have to wait that long to see the striker in action, as the Florida-based team has several friendlies coming up.
They are scheduled to face Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia on January 29. It is the club where his former team-mate Neymar plays, although he will not play due to injury. They also signedYassine 'Bono' Bounou, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer transfer window.
