Jayden Danns reached another notable goalscoring landmark but the teenage striker couldn't prevent Liverpool under-21s suffering a disappointing defeat at Brighton.
Danns netted on his Premier League 2 debut as the young Reds were beaten 4-2 at the Amex Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The 17-year-old, who has now scored 17 competitive goals for the Academy sides this season, took just 13 minutes to find the target from six yards having been found by Kaide Gordon's low cross.

That equalised an eighth-minute opener from 15-year-old Brighton forward Harry Howell, and the Reds were ahead on 33 minutes when a corner from the impressive Bobby Clark landed at the feet of Lewis Koumas to score.
Liverpool were the better team before the break, but fell away in the second half as Louis Flower equalised eight minutes after the interval. Howell grabbed a second seven minutes later before Jamie Mullins sealed the home side's win in the seventh minute of injury time as the Reds pressed for an equaliser.
"As good as we were in the first half, I was equally as disappointed with us in the second half," said U21s boss Barry Lewtas. "First half, I felt we could have been out of sight with the chances we missed and how we played. And second half, in fairness to them, they (Brighton) certainly stepped it up a bit but we couldn't just sustain the levels."
Earlier in the day, the U18s marked their first game of the calendar year with a deserved 3-1 triumph over Stoke City in the U18 Premier League North at Kirkby.
