Manchester United and Liverpool are chasing 44-year old Premier League manager

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is being eyed by Manchester United to become their next manager.

Manchester United are eager to name the 44-year-old Italian as their next manager, according to The Telegraph, but they will have to compete with Liverpool for his services.

Since taking over, De Zerbi has done a fantastic job at Brighton and the Seagulls have impressed with both their style of play and their performances.

It should come as no surprise that Manchester United are interested in hiring him. The Italian is currently one of the best young managers in the football world and he is set to attract interest from both Liverpool and Barcelona as well, who are losing their managers at the end of the season.

Manchester United are having difficulty qualifying for the Champions League as a result of Erik ten Hag’s inability to get the best performance out of his squad this season. If the team’s performance doesn’t significantly improve before the end of the season, the Red Devils could let him go.

Meanwhile, Reds are now looking for possible successors after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently stated that he will be leaving the team at the end of the current campaign.

Liverpool would be wise to recruit the 44-year-old Italian manager as well. It will be intriguing to watch which of the two teams can persuade him.

Liverpool are in a better position to qualify for the Champions League than Man United, who are still somewhat rebuilding, and their project is much farther along.
