There is now just over a month remaining in the summer transfer window, but there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding what will happen at Manchester City.
The Treble winners have already strengthened with the smart addition of Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, though it still feels like there is work to be done to offset those who have left.
City will hope that the signing of Kovacic and the players already at their disposal will be enough to replace club captain Ilkay Gundogan, though it is less clear how they will compensate for the sale of Riyad Mahrez.
The 32-year-old was not included as part of the club's tour squad to Japan and South Korea and officially left to join Al-Ahli for a fee that could rise to £30million on Friday.

Academy duo Cole Palmer and Oscar Bobb have both caught the eye from the right wing in pre-season, though it seems most likely City will look to sign a direct replacement for the Algerian ace. Barcelona forward Raphinha and Brighton winger Julio Enciso have both been linked with moves, while Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is also admired.
Josko Gvardiol remains the club’s top defensive target for the remainder of the summer, but RB Leipzig have set a provisional deadline of mid-August for him to be sold.
There is still confidence from both sides that a deal can be agreed; however, Leipzig insist they will only sell the 21-year-old if they then have enough time to go and sign a top replacement for him.
This uncertainty has also complicated the future of Aymeric Laporte, who will be allowed to leave if an appropriate offer comes in, but only if they sign Gvardiol.
