Manchester City are 'in talks' with John Stones over a new contract that could keep him at the Etihad until 2027, according to reports.
Stones has become a key part of Pep Guardiola's side in recent seasons, enjoying the demands of stepping into central midfield. He was among City's most important players in that position last season as they went on to win the treble.
The centre-back signed a five-year deal in 2021 and Football Transfers reports that a clause in those terms stated that fresh talks can begin during the 2023/2024 campaign.
The report also suggests that City are lining up a potential new deal for Guardiola himself, who has brought unrivalled success to the Etihad. The manager's current contract expires in 2025 but there is said to be hope of an extended stay.

Elsewhere, any hope of a future move for Eberechi Eze has been dealt a blow with Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson suggesting a new Palace contract is imminent.
City considered a late move for Eze in the summer as part of an uncharacteristically late flurry. Guardiola's side ended up signing Matheus Nunes from Wolves in a £53million deadline-day deal.
Eze has long been on the radar of top Premier League clubs and enjoyed his most productive campaign for Palace last season. But any hope of returning for the 25-year-old looks set to end.
"We had the good news with Michael Olise earlier in the year, and now those two [Jordan Ayew and Sam Johnstone]," Hodgson said on Thursday. "I believe the club are working very hard with Eberechi Eze and they are very confident it won’t be too long before they can announce him as well."
