Man United drop cryptic Rasmus Hojlund injury hint ahead of Arsenal clash

Manchester United have a number of injuries in their first-ream, with Raphael Varane and Mason Mount to miss Sunday's clash against Arsenal whilst Rasmus Hojlund remains a doubt

Manchester United have refused to disclose whether or not striker Rasmus Hojlund has trained this week ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Hojlund joined the Red Devils for a fee in the region of £72million during the summer transfer window but he is yet to make his debut, currently sidelined with a back injury. But he is nearing a return, with United boss Erik ten Hag confirming that the 20-year-old would soon be fit when asked if he would play against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

"Not for tomorrow. (He's) near," Ten Hag said about Hojlund ahead of the Forest game. "Today, for the first time, he came into team training so next week we expect him to do a full week of team training so he is near to the squad."

The Danish international wasn't spotted in training images released by the club on Tuesday and as per the Manchester Evening News, United refused to disclose whether he had trained. It remains to be seen why Ten Hag's side are keeping their cards close to their chest.

One player that the Dutchman certainly won't have available for selection on Sunday is defender Raphael Varane. United confirmed yesterday that the French international would miss the trip to the Emirates Stadium through injury.
