Arsenal are reportedly set to lose out on their first signing of the January transfer window to Manchester United.

It has been reported by Daily Record that Man United are in ‘advanced talks’ over a six-figure transfer for Queen’s Park ‘keeper Callan McKenna. It is claimed that both the Gunners and Chelsea showed serious interest in the 17-year-old, with the Reds said to have closely followed McKenna’s development.

The Scottish Championship side could potentially receive up to seven figures, if a series of add-on clauses are met, with the Mirror adding that McKenna will link up with Man United’s U23 side. The Scotland U19 international does already have first team experience, though, making nine appearances under former manager Robin Veldman.
