Manchester United are weighing up an approach for Everton's Amadou Onana as an alternative to Sofyan Amarbat, according to reports.
United manager Erik ten Hag is open to further signings this summer, following the arrivals of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund. Midfield is a particular point of interest for the Dutchman, who has Fred departing for Fenerbahce while Donny van de Beek is another likely exit.
Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, however the Daily Mail reports Onana is also on the shortlist of potential arrivals. The Belgian international was a rare shining light in an otherwise dismal campaign for Everton last term.

The Toffees signed Onana for around £33million a year ago and are expected to want to make a profit if they are to consider offers. He would therefore likely cost more than Amrabat, who is thought to be valued at £26million.
Elsewhere, TalkSPORT reports that West Ham are exploring a surprise move for Anthony Martial. The Hammers have already expressed their interest in Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire, seeing a £30million bid for the latter accepted by United.
David Moyes wants another striker in his squad after selling Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta. Talks for the French international are said to be at an early stage and it is unclear whether Ten Hag would sanction a deal, with only one other out-and-out striker in his squad.
