Manchester United could consider a move for Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo by offering Antony in exchange, a report suggests.
Antony is yet to score or assist in 19 matches this season and has generally failed to live up to the £85m price tag which made him United’s second-most expensive signing. The Brazilian has failed to net since April and fans are starting to lose patience with the former Ajax man.
A report from AS, via Sport Witness, says United are keeping tabs on Kubo who has recorded six goals and four assists in 24 outings this season. The article moots that United may be prepared to offer Antony in exchange, although this seems unlikely.

With Jadon Sancho set to leave United next month on loan, the Reds will need to keep hold of their wide players. It also remains to be seen what stance Sir Jim Ratcliffe takes when he arrives at the club. He may take a more hardline approach to transfers but swapping Antony for the untested Kubo would carry its own risks, while Sociedad have indicated they would not agree to a swap deal.
Meanwhile, The Athletic states that Donny van de Beek’s exit to Frankfurt may be announced as soon as New Year’s Day. He has reportedly already completed his medical with the deal signed off.
MEN Sport reported earlier this month that the Dutchman will join on an initial loan deal with a £12.5m option-to-buy clause. Van de Beek has played only twice all season, tallying just over 20 minutes in all.
