Manchester United 'in the race for Germany international' and more transfer rumours
Manchester United are 'in the race' to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
That is according to a report by The Sun, which claims United 'like the look' of the experienced centre-back. United are understood to be planning to strengthen their central-defensive options in 2024.
Doubts currently surround Raphael Varane's long-term future at Old Trafford, likewise Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. United planned to offload Maguire in the most recent window and replace him with a younger operator.

Tah, however, will turn 28 in February, suggesting that he would be nothing more than a short-term fix for the Reds. The German international, who has been at Leverkusen since 2015, is also, according to the report, generating interest from Newcastle United and West Ham United.
Despite not being a long-term solution, Tah has been one of the most consistent performers in the Bundesliga in recent years, and he has enjoyed an impressive start to this season. He has helped Leverkusen, who are currently top of the Bundesliga table, keep seven clean sheets in all competitions so far this term.
Tah is out-of-contract in June 2025, meaning next year, either in January or in the summer, could represent Leverkusen's last meaningful opportunity to sell him for a respectable fee, if he is not planning to sign a new deal. The centre-back has made a total of 321 appearances for the German club, chipping in with 12 goals.
