Manchester United star Marcus Rashford was in the headlines for the wrong reasons this weekend after being absent from the squad for Sunday's FA Cup win over Newport County.
Rashford was left out by Erik ten Hag for the trip to Rodney Parade after he missed training on Friday due to illness. The club confirmed the England international would miss the tie to remain at Carrington as he recovers.
The news of his absence came after reports that Rashford went on a night out in Belfast before reporting himself too ill to attend training on Friday. Speaking before the game, United boss Erik ten Hag provided a frosty response when quizzed on the forward's omission.

He said: "He reported ill. Lets say, it’s an internal matter, I’ll deal with it. It’s an internal matter."
News of Rashford missing the cup clash dominated the build-up to the 4-2 win. And on BBC Sport, Micah Richards joined Alan Shearer in discussing the continued off-field problems under Ten Hag.
The former Manchester City defender warned Rashford that he must start taking responsibility as a big name at the club. Richards also questioned Ten Hag's handling of specific situations after high profile disputes with Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.
