As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Olympique de Marseille have opened negotiations to sign Watford winger Ismaïla Sarr (25). L’Équipe have added that the Senegalese international has already held talks with the club’s president, Pablo Longoria, over a move to the Vélodrome.
With just a year remaining on his deal with Watford, the former Stade Rennais winger could be available for just €12m. However, TAS’ judgement on the Pape Gueye deal, which pits Les Phocéens against the Hornets, has the potential to make the deal difficult, according to L’Équipe.
Romano adds that whilst Sarr is on the list and talks are ongoing, he isn’t the only name being considered by Marseille, who have already added Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to their forward line this summer.
According to L’Équipe, Marseille still haven’t given up on signing Sheffield United’s Iliman Ndiaye (20), who had looked set to remain at the newly-promoted Premier League club, but whose future is now more vague after the Ligue 1 club re-established contact.
