Marseille set to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Sheffield United
Marseille’sdrawn-out efforts to sign Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye to appear to have paid off, with Mohamed Bouhafsi reporting this Sunday that an agreement has been reached between the French side and the newly-promoted Premier League outfit.
The deal was finalised after talks in London yesterday, involving Les Phocéens president Pablo Longoria, The Blades’ representatives, and the player’s agents.
The Senegal international will put pen to paper on a five-year deal, and is expected to arrive in Marseille tonight and undergo his medical tomorrow. After scoring 14 goals and registering 11 assists in the Championship last year, the boyhood Marseille fan will now return to France nine years on from leaving the Ligue 1 team’s academy.
The Rouen-born forward was tied to Sheffield United on a contract that was due to expire at the end of the upcoming campaign. Ndiaye is the latest arrival of an impressive recruitment campaign from Marseille, which has also seen them bring in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ismaïla Sarr, and Renan Lodi.
