Mikel Arteta has provided Arsenal injury updates on a number of players before his side take on West Ham in the Carabao Cup this evening. The Gunners boss has been without Jurrien Timber since the first game of the Premier League season and now Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are all nursing injuries.
Partey picked up his second injury of the campaign prior to the Champions League clash against Sevilla with Arteta then coming out of that European fixture with another new injury. After a superb display, Jesus felt his hamstring in the final stages and was therefore withdrawn. Neither are expected to be long-term absentees, but Arteta was coy on an exact return date for either.
Elsewhere, Odegaard recently joined the injury list with the club captain surprisingly dropped for the visit of Sheffield United. Another absence for the Carabao Cup could be on the cards, although Arteta was optimistic about a return in his latest press conference.
