It’s a big week for Chelsea, starting with the home Premier League clash against Newcastle on Monday night. Ahead of the game, the squad have been working on the training pitch, with two of the club’s standout youth prospects looking to impress.
Pictures show midfielder Kiano Dyer and winger Tyrique George training with the first team. 17-year-old Dyer has been a regular for the U21s this season with 18-year-old George making more appearances for the U18s.
Dyer in particular could be an option that Pochettino turns to in midfield after the manager admitted that he didn’t have the ‘possibility to refresh players that are in a key area’ when talking about his midfield. Cesare Casadei was recalled from a loan spell with Leicester City in January but was an unused substitute.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, the Chelsea boss said that some youngsters could be involved in the coming weeks. The Argentine could turn to them to try and help the club’s struggles.
