Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he's in regular talks with the Chelsea higher-ups about their plans for the January transfer window as he looks to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer, the Argentine has overseen one of the biggest squad overhauls in the club's history having ousted over 20 players from the dressing room in one window. He also bought in some of world football's most exciting young talents including Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer — the latter of which has been the club's best signing under him so far.
The former Manchester City star has helped Pochettino steady an unstable ship during his few months in blue so far, with his 11 goal contributions for the club since September marking him out as a key piece in the Chelsea puzzle the Blues boss is still solving.
It's an area that he's not shied away from either, having been open about his willingness to do business in the window after the loss against Everton earlier in the window. With an owner who has already spent £1bn in his 18 or so months since arriving in English football, Pochettino knows he'll be provided the funds necessary to shape his side in his image.
He won't be fearful of any Financial Fair Play (FFP) blowback either. Given the club's incredible knack for selling players on for high prices, the £706m in player sale profits they've generated over the past few years means that he could freely splash out on any target he could conceivably think of if the interest is there.
