The soccer star gave a controversial post-match interview after her career ending injury

In an unconventional rant, the striker claimed that her unfortunate injury proved God didn't exist and that to speed up her recovery, she was going to get the «Aaron Rodgers treatment».
«This is a long one,» she began in the post-match interview with Rose Lavelle. «I'm gonna get theAaron Rodgers treatment whatever that is. So, I'm going to be calling him or whoever did his surgery so we can speed this up,» she continued.

For context, the New York Jets quarterback has undergone what some have described as a'miraculous' recovery after tearing his Achilles tendon in Week 1 of the NFL season against the Buffalo Bills. Despite the severity of the injury,Rodgers is eyeing a return in mid-December, just a few months after the incident.
Rapinoe's remarks have proved to be a step too far some, with the player claiming that the injury proves that God doesn't exist.«I'm not a religious person or anything and if there was a God, like, this is proof that there isn't,» Rapinoe said. «This is f**ked up.
