One of the questions that flashed up on their scoreboard was regarding the birth place of the infamous dictator.
The answer- Austria — and a picture of the former leader of the Nazi party in Germany were shown on-screen.
Several people in stadium were quick to take pictures and share them on social media.
After the game an apology was issued.
«We are deeply sorry for the content that was displayed, as this is not representative of our institutional values,» Michigan State associate athletic director Matt Larson said in a statement.
«MSU will not be using the third-party source going forward and will implement stronger screening and approval procedures for all videoboard content in the future.»
Following the pre-game furore, MSU then lost 49-0 to their No.2 ranked in-state rivals.
Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy passed for 287 yards delivering a career-high four touchdowns at East Lansing on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, their defense shut out their hosts for the first time since 2000.
