Mikel Arteta dealt triple Arsenal dilemma ahead of Everton clash and Champions League return

Mikel Arteta is facing a tough run of fixtures at Arsenal after the international break - along with the return of Champions League football at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have a busy schedule after the international break and Mikel Arteta will need to use his squad well. The Gunners have three players in particular that are likely to be in line for more game time ahead of Premier League football returning this weekend.

Eight players have started all four matches for Arsenal so far this season with Arteta's side taking 10 points from a possible 12. The Gunners face the return of Champions League football in the coming weeks which will see the Gunners boss need to rotate his squad to maintain fitness and sharpness amongst his players.

Arsenal were able to consistently select a strong starting XI last term - but they have been hampered by injuries already this season. Summer signing Jurrien Timber looked good in pre-season, but has since suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him sidelined until the new year.

Declan Rice has settled in quickly to his new surroundings, whilst Kai Havertz is still adapting to a new role under Arteta. The Arsenal boss will have to pick and choose the games where he rests some of his first-team stars in order not to burn them out and risk injury with the increase to fixture congestion.

Fabio Vieira has made a strong case to start for the Gunners in the coming weeks after registering two assists off the bench against Fulham and Manchester United. The Portuguese playmaker has impressed and Arteta may consider giving Vieira some more minutes ahead of Havertz if the German continues to struggle for form.
