Mikel Arteta has already begun looking ahead to Arsenal's next Premier League game at home to Chelsea. The Gunners beat Wolves 2-0 on Saturday evening to put a disastrous last seven days firmly behind them following defeats to Bayern Munich and Aston Villa.
Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard were on target for the visitors to Molineux with David Raya, who impressed in between the sticks, and the Arsenal defence also able to keep clean sheet number 13 of the Premier League season.
The three points took Arsenal up to 74 for the season, one above Manchester City and that gap could extend to four before Pep Guardiola's side return to action against Brighton next Thursday. They also moved three points above Liverpool, although they can close that margin with victory against Fulham on Sunday.
Despite losing to Villa, Arsenal are still very much in the title race and they can further cement their credentials against Chelsea on Tuesday. The Blues head into the London derby fresh off FA Cup heartbreak at the hands of Man City with Bernardo Silva's late goal the difference between the two sides.
As for the Gunners, given the performance and result against Wolves, Arteta is clearly of the belief it was the perfect way to get back on track. “[The opening goal] was good timing because we opened them up a few times but didn’t manage to score, and to score that goal just before half-time, I think it brought the team some calmness," he told Arsenal's official website.
