FC Cincinnati bested Philadelphia Union and advances to the MLS Eastern Conference Final after Saturday's MLS East Semifinal match at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati which was a constant back-and-forth affair throughout the 90 minutes of regulation, with the home sideFC Cincinnati and the visiting Philadelphia Union unable to break the deadlock despite having a few chances on each side to take advantage.

The Union was not as offensive as they should have been to claim a place in the East final, but to be honest, neither was Cincinnati and even with that, players like Aaron Boupendza, Lucho Acosta, and Brandon Vazquez had better chances than were snuffed out by the good work of the visiting defense or by goalkeeper Andre Blake.

For Cincinnati, Mikael Uhre had a shot on goal after a clear cross in the Cincinnati area, Nathan Harriel sent a shot that was well saved by Roman Celentano, and Alvaro Barrel had another chance, with time expiring on a free kick, but his shot went wide of the goal.

In extra time at 90+4', Yerson Mosquera took advantage of the clearest chance Cincinnati had in the entire match in the middle of the Philadelphia area and put a right-footed cross to Blake's right post, who could not do anything about the shot.

The VAR came in to review a possible advanced position by Ian Murphy in the assist to the Colombian, but the goal was deemed to have been scored.

The MLS Eastern Conference Final between Ohio teams FC Cincinnati will meet the winner of the other key, Columbus Crew, to define the finalist of the Eastern Conference in the Ohio classic, in a match to be held next Saturday, December 2, also at TQL Stadium.
