Mowgli owner and founder Nisha Katona MBE has credited the love and support from Liverpool for the chain's success.
Mowgli is celebrating a decade since launching on Liverpool's Bold Street. What started with pennies pulled together from the back of a couch has blossomed into the UK's first national Indian restaurant chain with more than 20 locations.
Despite success all over the country, Nisha admitted nowhere else will ever compare to Liverpool. She told the ECHO: "I love this city so much. I always want Mowgli to be a place where two teenagers can eat delicious food for £10 a head and so as long as you are reasonably priced, people will come. Especially in this cost of living crisis, it's just not right to rip people off.

"I built this brand alongside the people of Liverpool and on social media. It may sound stupid but when I speak at conferences in London they know it is a Liverpool brand. We were the Sunday Times' best company to work for and everyone knows we're a Liverpool brand.
She added: "It's that feeling of home and I'm so proud of it. I'm uncompromising that this is a North West, Liverpool story. This city is full of people like me who could fill a gap in the market. I was a woman in my 40s who didn't have a clue and I went and built it with my own hands at night. I hope it inspires other women in Liverpool to do it better and benefit the nation and world if they can. This city has the power to help you succeed so I want to push that to everyone I can."
