Netherlands at the Euros: All-time results, wins, record at UEFA European Championship
The Netherlands have booked their spot at Euro 2024 with Ronald Koeman aiming for a second chance in the competition.
Koeman was reappointed as La Oranje head coach following the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the Dutch FA opted to make a controversial move to bring the former defender back into the fold.
After not qualifying for Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup, Koeman was drafted in to replace Dick Advocaat, but despite reaching Euro 2020, his team bowed out at the Round of 16 — and he moved on to Barcelona.
Another Euro qualification under his leadership has boosted positivity amongst Dutch fans but their tournament performances have been poor in the last decade.
Who has qualified for Euro 2024?
Koeman's Netherlands qualified in second place from Group B behind group winners France.
Despite losing home and away to Didier Deschamps' France, the Dutch showed steel and quality to win a combined four matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland, to ensure a place at Euro 2024.
The Netherlands are on the list of former European Championship winners following their success at Euro '88 in West Germany.
Koeman was a key part of the Dutch defence, alongside iconic stars including Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard and Marco van Basten, and under the leadership of Rinus Michels.
If Koeman can guide the Netherlands to glory in 2024, he would become just the second person to win the competition as a player and manager, following Berti Vogts' double glory in 1972 and 1996.
