New Arsenal 2024/25 home kit 'leaked' with surprising retro feature

A new leaked image claiming to be of the Arsenal home kit for the 2024/25 season shows that Adidas could be about to revert to a new crest design which gives a nod to the past.

Fan account DailyAFC has tweeted out a picture of what could be the Gunners' new home kit which was seen hanging up in a window near the Emirates Stadium. Initially, it appears little has changed from this season's shirt.

Of course, the shirt is predominantly red with white now more distinctive on the sides. The iconic Adidas three stripes have changed from gold to a navy colour though with the biggest change coming with the crest.

Instead of the modern-day logo, Adidas has chosen to use just the canon. This is the first time since the German manufacturer took over from Puma in the 2019/20 season that the crest on the home shirt has been changed.

Adidas has changed the crest on either the away or third kit in the past three campaigns. However, the home crest has remained unchanged.

But this would not be the first time that Arsenal have worn just the canon on their home kits. From the late 1960s until the end of the 1980s, the Gunners adorned just a canon on their shirts.

The design of the canon has changed since these days though. It now points in the opposite direction to what it used to the last time it was featured solely on a home shirt back in the 1989/90 season which Adidas also produced.
