Nottingham Forest have outlined their "extreme disappointment" at the points deduction that could impact Everton's Premier League status.
The Blues and Forest are two clubs who are battling to avoid relegation from the top flight this season. Everton are 16th in the table with 25 points with 10 fixtures left to play this season.
On Monday, it was confirmed that Forest had been issued a four-point deduction which would be applied with immediate effect. The decision to hand the deduction to the City Ground outfit comes after the club was charged with breaches of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
A two-day hearing was held earlier this month as Forest waited to discover their fate. It was eventually decided by an independent commission that Forest would be handed a four-point deduction - Everton themselves are waiting for a hearing on a second alleged breach, after receiving a 10-point deduction earlier in the campaign which was later reduced to six.
The deduction leaves Forest in 18th place in the Premier League table, falling below Luton Town who are now 17th. Forest have 21 points, which is now four fewer than Everton going into the international break.
