Inter Milan striker Joaquín Correa (29) has officially joined Olympique de Marseille, both clubs have announced. The 29-year-old Argentine striker has joined Les Phocéens on a €2m loan with a €16m option to buy. Foot Mercato understands that in the event that Marseille qualify for the 2024-25 expanded Champions, Marseille will automatically trigger Correa’s €13m purchase option. At the end of his loan, the Argentine will sign a three-year deal with Marcelino’s side.
RMC Sport broke the news this Thursday that Marseille, Inter and Correa have all agreed to the move. The Argentine signed for Inter from Lazio in a €27m deal on the back of a season-long loan with Simone Inzaghi’s side. However, he only logged four goals and three assists in 41 games with the Nerazzurri last season. Inter were keen to listen to offers for Correa after securing the services of Marcus Thuram and retaining free-scoring Lautaro Martinez. Correa is the sixth signing of the Marcelino era at Marseille, after Geoffrey Kondogbia, Renan Lodi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Iliman N’Diaye and Ismaïla Sarr.
